Charlie & Yarlini / Maui, Hawaii Wedding

Charlie and Yarlini... Maui, Hawaii. Where do we begin?

We hiked through a bamboo forest, sailed a private yacht, walked on a black sand beach and ended the week with the most relaxed, intimate wedding I've ever witnessed. It was an absolute dream to shoot and edit this film... but not because of the location – Charlie and Yarlini gave us TOTAL control... "no agenda, shoot whatever you like, get to know us... but most of all, just hang out and have fun"... this is exactly what we're about. The wedding film industry seems to be saturated with shoots relying on drones, glidecams and more... once the initial "wow, that was a cool shot" has passed, what's left? Weddings are about people... let's never forget that.

Awesome to hang out with Craig Williams on this trip – absolutely adore this guy! You can see his amazing set of images here.

Charlie and Yarlini, I hope this takes you right back to that week in Hawaii x

Totoro Playsuit (となりのトトロ)

Being huge Studio Ghibli fans this was kind of a no-brainer. Rufus' very own Totoro playsuit! Based on the incredible Totoro onesie over on youandmie.com. We did make a few minor tweaks – most noticeably the detachable hood and collar – but the tutorial is super easy to follow!

As a family, the whole process was such a treat – a few days away from editing, e-mails and house hunting was so rewarding – finally putting that high-school textiles grade to good use. Enjoy!

Anwen & Myrddin / Conwy, North Wales Wedding

There is something wonderful about getting married at your family home. Anwen and Myrddin did just that – they married at Anwen's beautiful family farm near Conwy, North Wales. We climbed hills, avoided horses and hung out with cattle.

Fantastic to shoot alongside Ann-Kathrin Koch too – always a treat! Anwen and Myrddin, we adore you guys. Enjoy.

Happy Holidays

I'm sure you'll be seeing more 'best of' posts than any one-person can handle over the coming weeks... so we'll leave that this year. I guess we'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made 2014 an incredible year for us... we adore each and every one of you! From the bottom of our hearts... thank you.

We've travelled a total of 13,492 miles across the UK and Europe and our films have been landing on the doormats of happy couples all over the world – hitting Hong Kong, China, Dubai, New York, California, Seattle, Switzerland, Germany and heaps more... it never fails to blow our minds just how far these little boxes travel... and just how much joy each one brings.

We're super excited about 2015 for a number of reasons – Shutterbox will take us further than we ever imagined with shoots in Southern USA and Eastern Europe(!). 2014 was our first year running Shutterbox alongside being parents. Hand on heart... we've had the best time. Of course it's been a little chaotic at times but we wouldn't change it for the world. In fact, we've decided to create a little more chaos... Baby #2 will be joining us late February and we cannot wait to welcome her in to the world.

So that's it... see you all in 2015!

Happy Holidays. x

Keith & Emmelie / Sweden Wedding

Getting married at your childhood home must be an incredible experience... and that's just what Keith and Emmelie did. 6 hours north of Stockholm is the tiny community of Ånge... home to Emmelie's parents and their stunning farm. Honestly, I'm not sure we've been anywhere quite as breathtaking... lakes, mountains and the prettiest of houses.

Keith and Emmelie – you guys have stolen our hearts. Thank you for making us feel most welcome and allowing us to be a part of your special day.... and Sweden, we're hooked on you.

A total pleasure shooting alongside Laura McCluskey too... Laura, we love you!

Fujifilm X100S

We recently picked up the Fujifilm X100S... (I know, a little late to the party) we were off on holiday and I really didn't want to be lugging around a DSLR + lenses. Honestly, I feel like a total idiot travelling with such things for pleasure. The iPhone is great for grabbing a quick image or two but there is always an urge to check-in with social media... which (for us) is a no-go on holiday.

Below are the results of its first outing... and we're in love – a breeze to use, fixed 35mm lens, stunning viewfinder and handful of Fujifilm presets. I don't think we will ever reach for the DSLR again... the X100S now sits proudly on our kitchen cabinet waiting to be picked up.

If you have an X100S (or similar model) please do drop a link in the comments section below – we would love to check out the images.
